We use the medium to hard wood to prevent flux. This is where the speaker’s movement causes the enclosure to vibrate; this can cause the entire box to vibrate a part.
Next make sure the enclosure is a air tight seal at all the joints. Keep in mind the port. The best way to get the right box is to look at the spec sheet.
